Brechin Beavers 2022 Championships will be held on Sunday 11 th December 1-4pm at Brechin Community Campus.

This gala is aimed at swimmers in the Learn2Train and Train2Train hubs. All are encouraged to enter all 4 strokes, but swimmers may choose which strokes to enter.

Closing Date for Entry is Sunday 4 th December (No late entries will be accepted)


Swimmers must be on poolside ready to swim for a warm up at 1:00pm.

Racing Starts 1:30pm.


Distances

Swimmers must be able to swim the distances according to their age groups (Age at 31st December 2022)

Diving in from the side or starting in the water will be allowed.

9 & under Girls/Boys 25m free 25m back 25m breast 25m fly

10 years Girls/Boys 50m free 50m back 50m breast 25m fly

11/12 yrs Girls/Boys 100m free 100m back 100m breast 50m fly

13/14 yrs Girls/Boys 100m free 100m back 100m breast 100m fly

15-18yrs Girls/Boys 100m free 100m back 100m breast 100m fly

Masters Ladies/Men 100m free 100m back 100m breast 100m fly


How to get a Medal or a Trophy

Points will be accumulated over the 4 strokes. A Trophy will be awarded to the swimmer with the most points in each age group for boys and girls. Medals will be awarded to the 1 st, 2nd, and 3rd in each age group for boys and girls. Medals will also be awarded to the fastest swimmer in each stroke in each age group for boys and girls.


What to bring

All swimmers entered should bring with them

  • swimming costume, goggles and cap and spares if they have them.

  • 2 towels, one for poolside and one for getting dressed at the end,

  • A t-shirt to put on between races to keep them warm,

  • a water bottle (no glass bottles) and possibly a small snack to help their energy levels.

Want to watch and support ?

All are welcome to spectate, and we encourage families to come and support the swimmers.

Spectators to remain in the spectators’ area, bring indoor footwear, (no outside shoes are allowed on poolside, change just before you enter pool).

Presentations will be made at the presentation evening in January 2023 date TBC.
